What You Might Find To Be Different
-
We at the Lovelady Church of Christ are a true church family made up of kind, loving members who genuinely care for each other and everyone’s wellbeing. We strive to live by the Golden Rule and treat others the way we want to be treated (Matt. 7:12).
-
Christ’s church is for all people (Gal. 3:27). You will find members from all races and ethnicities, different social and economic levels, and various educational backgrounds who feel right at home in our congregation. Although we each have a unique backstory, we are all unified by our common bond in Christ, and we welcome everyone with open arms (1 Cor. 12:12-14). If you’ve been considering different places of worship in search of a new congregation, the Lovelady Church of Christ might be just the church family you’re looking for!
-
We base our entire lives around Christ and God’s word. Our sole desire is to do what’s right and please the Lord, thus making us a Heaven-bound people (Col. 1:5).
The People
-
Everyone comes together in one group assembly for worship. We do not have “children’s church” where our youth are separated while everyone else worships. We do, however, have separate children’s and adult Bible classes before everyone assembles in the auditorium for worship.
-
The entire congregation participates in beautiful a capella singing (without the use of mechanical instruments). We have no band, and we have no choir. Instead, we all sing to each other together and to the Lord, as they did in the New Testament (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16). By using only our voices to sing, we are able to focus on what we are singing about and the meaning behind the words.
-
The church of Christ partakes of communion every Sunday, just as they did in the New Testament (Acts 20:7). Each week we commemorate Christ’s death and resurrection and celebrate his promised return.
Our Worship
Learn More About Our Worship In Our Visitor FAQs Below.
Our Standard, The Word of God
We follow the Bible and it alone, not man-made creeds, books, or religions. The Bible is our standard for living and moral compass for right and wrong. We seek to speak where the Bible speaks and remain silent where the Bible is silent. With the Bible as our guidebook, we strive to pattern our lives according to the New Testament. From it, we get authority for everything we do, teach, and believe. God’s Word has the final say in every matter (Col. 3:17).
